Finally Strikeout Villa Del Bosque
MADRID, KOMPAS.com - Spanish national team coach, Vicente Del Bosque, David Villa eventually dropped from the team plans for Euro 2012, because of a broken left foot injury recovery Villa did not match expectations.
Villa suffered the injury playing for Barcelona in the Club World Cup tournament, in Japan, last December. He then underwent surgery and is predicted to be sidelined for five months.
Hearing this, Del Bosque did not necessarily write off Villa of the team plan. He gave Villa the raised level of fitness for Euro 2012.
"David Villa does not make the squad list for Euro 2012. Villa spoke with the national team doctor this afternoon after the team arrived in Schruns," the statement said the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).
"After not enter the final practice session and progressed as expected, David Villa spoke with Del Bosque, who said that even if Villa want to be with the team in Poland, Ukraine, not his physical condition as well as expected," the statement said.
Through a Twitter account, Villa responded to the decision saying, "Thank you for all your support. I will continue to work to immediately return to play for Barca and the Spanish national team."
